Keedz – 80’ies Revival à la française

Quite likely one of the most underrated french house projects I’ve been listening to lately. Keedz is defined as a musical project more specifically a bunch of French singers who mix their vocal with electro-disco-dance tunes. Their 2008 released album called “Stand on the Word” features a pretty colorful line-up of popular 80’ies remixes fine tuned in the well-known French House manner.

The corresponding single “Stand on the Word” gained fame with the remix of Michael Tordjman and Maxime Desprez also known as MiMa. People started to draw similarities to Justice’s “D.A.N.C.E” and indeed there are analogies to be made however both musical projects are completely independent. The song got famous in various countries already and is, since October last year, to be found in the French Single Charts.

The Insider: Keedz is another musical project who manages to deliberately pick catchy 80’ies tunes and remix them eventually becoming even more famous than the original. If you listen to “Stand on the Word”, you’ll be able to find an excerpt of the original song of Joubert Signers at 1.48.
